1)How are the interior & exterior traffic flow patterns related? As a designer, why should you consider them when preparing a floor plan? A: By how insulation & heat is distributed. One reason that you should consider them is so you know how the heat will be affected.
2)The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1997 provided clear guidelines for universal accessibility. What accessibility issues are important with a project? A: Some issues that are important are as follows: seating, parking, bath, wash, ect.
3)What factors determine the functionality of a room & its size, shape, & location? A: Location of where the house, resturant, ect. are being built.
4)In preparing a floor plan, what is the purpose & value of floor plan symbols? A: The purpose is that they give you more room to write extra stuff. The value is that it's simple.
5)What is R-value & how is it determined? A: R-value is the heat insulation. How it's determined I'm not entirely sure.
6)Where would you find air leakage, & how could it be prevented? A: One way you can find air leakage is by walking around the building, if you feel air, you find were it's from & determine if it's a leakage. One way that it can be prevented is to seal the cracks.
7)What is a vapor retarder? How is it used? A: A vapor retarder is a layer of material or laminate used to reduce the flow of water vapor into a roof assembly.
8. What is a BTU & how would you calculate the BTUs needed for your building? A: BTU stands for British thermal unit. I'm not sure how to calculate a BTU.
